Crew Cuts inspired tshirts!

Coming from a family of ten kids, my mom taught me well about being frugal.  When I was young, I never really knew any different.  I just thought it was all the norm.  Now as an adult, I am very frugal.  It's hard for me to spend a lot of money on just about anything...especially if I can make it myself!

Remember these?
I went back to Hobby Lobby and got more of that stretchy ruffled ribbon on a roll for $1.50 and dressed up some more tshirts.  I am bound and determined to make some cute things my older daughter will wear.  She's going into the jeans and tshirt phase and all of my cute handmade clothes I've made her are collecting dust in her closet!  GASP!

So here are a couple of tees that I came up with after scouring the Crew Cuts website for some ideas.

All you need is a tshirt, your sewing machine, and this "stretchy ruffled ribbon".

Pin the ribbon onto the tshirt and sew it down!

VOILA!

I'm linking up for these parties!  Go check them out!

Hey,
Thanks ever so much for the cute comment on my blog.

I'm freaking out over these shirts though! I totally have that stretchy ribbon and I'm going to give it a whirl! (What would I do without Hobby Lobby)? Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Love your blog!

Cute Andrea!! Your girls always look darling in your outfits. I have been there, done that whole "growing out of Moms cute stuff" phase. When they are teens you just have to focus on accessories...bags and such, but these tees are great! Thanks for linking again.

Super cute as always!! I understand about the jeans and tshirt phase. We are well into that one with our oldest. It's sad isn't it?!

Very cute!
Please tell me that you glued that ribbon on so that I can pretend there is hope for me.

And thanks so much for visiting me on my SITS day! I'm your newest follower and I hope you'll stop by again soon.

Very fun!! I could totally see these ruffles in fun/funky color combos going vertical to hint of a little tuxedo shirt too!

How adorable! I dread the age when my daughter will have to wear "a certain thing" or have a "certain look"...there's one shop around here that carries what I call slutty looking clothes. Okay, they're not really slutty, but they make little girls look like they're trying to look older...fortunately Lil Bits is too young to care, but I hear in elementary school...I AM NOT READY!

They look awesome! I agree! I think it is very wise to be thrifty! You are teaching your daughter valuable lessons!
