I can't stop eating the Puppy Chow!

No, it's not dog food. Some people call it other things, like Muddy Buddy, but in these parts it goes by Puppy Chow. Yeah, sounds gross, but I think it's almost the best treat in the world. Right now anyway. It usually comes out around the holidays and once it's gone it's gone. But I have had a hard time shutting my mouth lately and continue to shovel in the food! This morning I realized that I am jonesing for the chow and needed to make one more batch. After this, I promised myself, THAT'S IT!

If you would like the recipe, go here.
Enjoy!

I Feel Like Chicken Tonight!

Ok, so my oldest daughter has some kind of a dairy allergy. We aren't exactly sure what it is, she hasn't been tested yet, but she gets sick anytime she eats food with milk or cheese in it. At first we thought it was lactose intolerance and then realized it was much more. My husband enjoys casseroles, which usually include cheese, milk or cream of something soup, so those are becoming a thing of the past. Some of my old "go to" recipes can be done with soy milk and veggie cheese, but some of them are just not the same.

So what I am getting at here, is that I have some new recipes to share! The first comes from Martha Stewart's "Everyday Food" magazine. I don't have a picture because we ate it all!!!

So, here it is BAKED CHICKEN WITH ONIONS, POTATOES, GARLIC AND THYME!

Serves 4, prep time 10 mins., total time 1 hour

1 whole chicken (3-3 1/2 lbs) cut into 8 pcs and breast halved crosswise
1 lb white new potatoes, halved (quartered if large)
1 large red onion, cut into eighths
1 head garlic, cloves separated and left unpeeled
6 sprigs thyme
1 lemon quartered
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (evoo)
2 tbls balsamic vinegar
coarse salt and ground pepper

Preheat oven to 450. Arrange chicken through lemon in a 12X16" roasting pan. Whisk together evoo and vinegar and drizzle over chicken. Toss to combine and season with salt and pepper. Turn chicken skin side up. Roast until chicken is browned and cooked through, about 50 mins.

This is so easy and delicious! You could even do more potatoes if you have some hearty eaters or want to have some leftovers.

I am thinking of getting a subscription to the mag, it has some great recipes in it!

p.s. I hope to have a post with a giveaway on Friday! I will keep you posted!
Happy Monday!

All Things New

Ok, so I thought with the new year, my blog should get a facelift. I've decided to freshen it up a bit for the new year! Let me know what you think! I haven't taken any pictures since the day after Christmas...really, I can't believe it, so I felt as if I didn't have much to talk about. But I hope to have some fun and exciting things to show in the coming days. I think I will host my very first GIVEAWAY! I am hoping to have some fun with that and maybe meet some new bloggy friends! So, come back and check it out!

Love, Sweet, Love

Last weekend, my lovely niece, Angelina, married her sweetheart Josh in Virginia. I was so lucky to be able to go and share the day with them! It was such a pretty ceremony. She looks so beautiful and we all had a great time!

Sweet baby Raegan! What a lovebug!

Sweet baby Anela! I got to meet her for the first time! I was thrilled that she and Raegan allowed me to hold and play with them. They weren't scared or shy at all. You never know how a baby will act and they were so great! I even got some kisses! (melt)

Jacob decided to grab a present out from under Grandmama and Grampa's tree. He got just enough paper off to be able to say, "There's a truck in there!". Needless to say, they let him go on and open it. He had a ball with those 4 trucks all weekend!

Especially from the "power sisters". They have rings and boots and everything.

Gobble gobble gobble!

I hope your pies are good! I hope mine are too!
To all of my family and friends, I hope your day is filled with blessings and happiness. Please know that I am so thankful for you all.
love, A

It's feeling like Christmas!

The weather is cooling off and I am so busy it's CRAZY! This weekend I will be at Montgomery Intermediate's Shopping Extravaganza! Come on by and look around. I hear it will be a great event! I will have my usual items, plus the two new skirts below that have matching tops, and some fun new sparkly flip flops. When I get some pics, I will post them.

Is it looking (or feeling) like Christmas to you?
