It's a zoo around here

I always know when May comes around, it's such a busy time.  The end of school, dance recital prep, teacher gifts, the list goes on.  I have been so busy!  This morning I sat down and thought I'd just post a picture for a wordless Wednesday, but as I was looking for a particular picture, I came across some sweet and some funny pictures from almost two years ago!

After Hurricane Ike hit, we were without power for about 10 days.  After about 3 or 4, we decided to hit the road and go on a little vacation.  A hurrication.  It was a blast.  We went to San Antonio and went to Sea World, a wildlife preserve you can drive through, and spent lots of time on the Riverwalk.

Here are some memories of the trip!

My husband wanted to put this on a Christmas card with some wise remark!  We laughed our heads off.  Apparently, the zebras don't get much to eat because they were hungry!!

She was not happy about the goats.  She was afraid they'd eat her skirt!!

Little no fear Nellie.

We were there for "National Pirate Day".  They people were walking around yelling "argh"!  They were so funny!

Forrest Gump was there too.

The tallest man.  That's just crazy!!

Last one, I promise, but how funny is this??  Put this child in the car and she'll go to sleep.  Still.  She's almost 7.  Maybe I need to adjust her bedtime?

What are your vacation plans for the summer?  I've got some big ones!

A hurrication - NICE. I wish my parents had thought of that when we were always stuck at home with downed trees and no power in Florida. I love so much how photos can capture the essence of something. Such a sweet trip down memory lane and the last one is definitely my fav :)

Love the pics! The one of her sleeping is adorable and the zebra picture is awesome!

My 6 year old is the same way, in the car, fast asleep.

We don't have any plans as of yet, but I assume we'll head to Ohio because I hear my MIL is coming up from Mexico to visit.

Stopping by from SITS!

Visiting from SITS.

We have no big plans this year, maybe going to Omaha (a 3 hour car trip). We plan on doing a bigger vacation next year when our youngest will be turning 3 which means no diapers and we can fudge her napping schedule a little better without major repricussions!

Have a great weekend.

What a great idea that was! Oh, my husband would kill to sit next to Forrest :-)

And the goats? So cute. They are very aggressive, I know.

The River Walk is one of my favorite places to go. Hope you had a chance to throw some peanut shells on the floor at Dirty Nell's!

That zebra photo is hilarious...it needs to be in a contest. My poor son won;t go near a goat...one attacked him at the county fair...how awful, eh?

Hurrication, that's hilarious! Stopping by via SITS Saturday Sharefest. I can't imagine being without power for 10 days, good call to make lemonade out of lemons. Your little girl is so sweet. My baby girl is 15 now, I miss those days a lot.

I love it! Hurrication! Sounds like so much fun! What a great way to take your mind off of all the things going on back home! Sometimes the best thing is just to get away from it all! :)

And those poor hungry zebras! lol
